Well, although the name may sound like---well, crap---the games for the Wii, and the Wii Concept, are looking amazing. Although the graphics aren't nearly as powerful as the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, the graphics are being used to their full potential and don't look too bad. The games are looking amazingly fun, and the remote controller concept is brilliant. I can't wait to get my hands on Red Steel or Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. Man, the banner Metal-Geo made was right:
Nintendo finally named the Revolution. The Revolution was their codename for their next generation console, which will be released in November this year. The considered calling it the "Nintendo Go", but in the end, they have named it the "Nintendo Wii", pronounced we. This has got to be the stupidest name for a console in the history of anything. "Wii", meaning "we", is supposed to respresent unity between Nintendo and Gamers. How cheesy is that? Whoever came up with the official name, I hate you.
Of course, this doesn't effect the console and the games it will be bringing, but it does make it sound a little less respectable. Wii will sound funny when used in conversations. Bah, Nintendo. You should've stuck with your original codename---it was much better.
Arrogant Worms Concert
I went to the Arrogant Worms concert last Sunday, and it was fantastic. They made several jokes about the power outage we had last time, and were great entertainers between songs---and, of course, the songs were hilarious themselves. We got to hear several of the songs from their newest album, Biege.
My favorite songs included The Last Saskatchewan Pirate and the "A Minute With Mike" part. I was especially amazed when I got to get the CD I bought (Live Bait) autographed by the three themselves. I think I almost had a heart attack. I'm keeping the autographs safe. They have the memories of my first (and not planned to be last) Arrogant Worms Concert, and also the start of my autograph collection. I love the Arrogant Worms, they are truly a great Canadian Comedy Band.
You should check out their music. It'll be worth it, although if you're not Canadian you might not get some of the jokes. But still, that doesn't change the fact that the Arrogant Worms are freakin' hilarious! =D
Sprite Wars has developed its own seperate forum.
To all those who don't know, Sprite Wars is a major---well, war! It involves a large group of people creating Sprite Comics against eachother in the effort to win the war. There is a large and quickly growing community, and anyone who likes sprites or comics would be advised to check out it. And for anyone else, hey, it's even fun to watch the comics themselves.
There is now an East and West side to the battle. The battle has already started again, and with the arrival of several more key players, the battle is about to get HUGE. Don't miss it.
You can find the forum here. Register, or log if you already have, and join the war. Or just sit back and watch as the limbs fly. It's all up to you =)
I've been really happy to be going to the Arrogant Worms Concert in Huntsville. Today, on the 28th of January '06, I went. I had some food at a lakeside restaurant, then excitedly went to the building where the band was going to be playing. That area of Huntsville had been out of power since 4:30 apperentally, and it was already 7:40.
You guessed it. After waiting until 8:10 they announced that it would be another hour before they even got the power back up, so they cancelled the concert. At least we could get a refund or go at the re-arranged date (though we don't know when that is yet).
Too bad. I was really looking forward to seeing the Arrogant Worms in Concert for the first time.
